The first implant appointment is a planning visit, not a procedure. Nothing is drilled, nothing is decided on the spot, and you leave with a written plan and a cost you can think about at home.
The examination and the scan
After looking at the gap and the teeth around it, we take a three-dimensional scan of the jaw. It shows the exact height and width of bone available and the position of the nerve, which is what determines whether an implant can be placed directly or needs a graft first.
Your medical history matters more than you expect
Smoking, uncontrolled diabetes, certain bone medications and some autoimmune treatments all affect healing. Bring a list of what you take. None of these are automatic disqualifications, but they change the timeline and the success rate we can honestly promise.
Questions worth asking
How many months from placement to the final crown? What is included in the quoted price? What happens if the implant does not integrate? A clinic that answers these plainly is a clinic worth returning to.
